EcoCitizen celebrates the women leading change in Environment and Climate with a VIP ticket giveaway for Shakira in El Salvador

Giveaway contest organised by EcoCitizen and spread via social media channels.

In February 2025, EcoCitizen launched a special giveaway to celebrate the women driving change through science, engineering, environmental, climate, and social leadership in Mesoamerica. The prize: two VIP tickets to see Shakira live at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador, El Salvador, one of the shows of the Las mujeres ya no lloran World Tour.

The initiative grew out of EcoCitizen’s conviction that recognition should not be confined to academic or institutional settings, and that the women doing the hard, often invisible work of building more just and sustainable societies in Mesoamerica deserve moments of genuine celebration. Mesoamerica is a region of extraordinary environmental complexity and social dynamism, and it is women… scientists, engineers, climate advocates, and community leaders; who are increasingly at the forefront of the work that matters most there. EcoCitizen’s engagement with this region is a deliberate and long-term commitment to connecting Mesoamerican actors with knowledge networks, institutional partners, and the resources they need to turn technical expertise into impact.

The concert took place in February 2026 at Estadio Cuscatlan before an audience of more than 45,000 people. Its message of resilience and empowerment spoke directly to the mission EcoCitizen carries.

Estadio Cuscatlan, San Salvador, El Salvador. With a capacity of over 45,000, it was the venue for Shakira's concert where EcoCitizen gave away 2 VIP tickets.
